What is RSS?

RSS (= Really Simple Syndication) is a platform-independent electronic news format which is used to provide news, articles and other web content. A so-called RSS feed or news feed is a XML file containing just the Website content you wish to subscribe to, with no layout.

What do I need RSS for?

The main advantage RSS holds for the user is time: Websites can quickly and effectively be checked for changes and current content without the need to download and display graphics and banners.

How do I subscribe to a RSS feed?

Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox can display RSS feeds directly. All you have to do is click on the RSS link of the feed you wish to subscribe to. Afterwards click on "subscribe to feed" (IE 7), or simply enter your description (Firefox).

If you are using Internet Explorer 6 you need an external so-called RSS reader, a software which can subscribe to and manage RSS feeds. Simply right-click on the link of the feed you want and copy and paste the link into your RSS reader. Please do not click on the feed link, if you use IE 6.

News feeds cannot be displayed in a browser!
